A second challenge would be good. Every time you set up one of these, everybody learns, and that's what we're here for.

Can I make a suggestion? For the next challenge, can we factor money management?

Something along the lines of, you have xx equity in your account at the time of this trade, so taking into account the stoploss you have selected of yy pips, how many lots are you going to invest (fractional lots allowed).

I think this could be useful as we have had a lot of questions on money management lately, and there are several different approaches floating around. It would be nice to see how these are applied in practice.

Draco,

That's a great idea!  I'll definitely incorporate this in our next Challenge.

Ian,

I have been looking at some of the less commonly traded pairs. I was wondering for our next challenge can we look at some thing that has more choppy patches. I just looked at the HKD/JPY and SGD/JPY on the Daily chart and it looked amazingly choppy. It would help to have some practise to "clean" up the charts to see what is more relavent and using MTF to determine a good entry and exit point.

what do you think? Sorry I havent been in contact for a while. I am currently being traded to our Singapore office for the next few months. So lots to do.  Cry I am gonna miss Christmas Sad

Hey Simon,

I am right now working on choosing the pair for the next Analysis Challenge, so I will definitely look for a pair that offers us the chance to work with MTF effectively to "clean up" the overall view.  I should have it decided by Wednesday of this week!

Choppy, you say....Hmmmmm Angry

Singapore? Feel lucky they didn't put you in some place like Taiwan, China, Thailand...
IMO, Japan and Singapore are the best places in Asia.
My friend, you're goinf to experience you hottest, most humid Christmas ever. Don't even bother to dress up as Santa Grin

Heheh.. Abandon the Santa suit. never.... Cheesy

I like Singapore but not when my girlfriend is in Japan so my Xmas present will be a very large phone bill.

Christmas is my favourite time of the year, it doesnt matter what happens, you will never take my christmas spirit. Even if the humidity does give me an instant afro when I step outside the gates. Its like a wall of heat hits you when you leave. I mean I am from the area but going from 7 degrees to 34 degrees is rough. Water must have water.... Grin

Ha! Grin

That's exactly the point: "wall of heat"  Undecided- welcome to Singapore.
At least in Taiwan, where I'm now, it's under 20. And Christmas will be much cooler hopefully Cheesy
With Christmass spirit - me too, I love it. My favorite time as well.

From 7 to 34... good luck. You'll need at least a week to adapt.

Haha George,

I dont think I will get the chance. I am in Singapore week 1. Back to Tokyo for my first meeting with my future in laws (her dad's got a morbid fascination with katanas Shocked, but i guess all dads are the same especially when she is the youngest in the family and the only girl, I sure can pick'em) in the second week, back to Singapore week 3, fly to India week 4 for a friend's wedding. I am gonna need a shrink, a whole lot of whiskey and praying won't be a bad thing.

But still it will never take my Christmas Spirit.  Grin never...

the cool weather and Xmas go together along with all the memories. My first Xmas was in a Brunei where my family is from. My grandfather wanted me to feel like I belonged in Australia(I was moving there) so he read up on Xmas stories at the local library. He decorated the house with chinese festival lights and hung decorations on a coconut tree (Xmas trees arent all that common in the tropics), but my favourite all time memory of it was we couldnt figure out why guys hung the stockings on the fireplace.

We had an old fashion gas stove top but fire hazard and gas is no good so he nailed our old gym sock on the walls. Its hilarious. But its the thought that counts. Thats the christmas spirit.

Merry Christmas to everybody. Where ever you may be.
