In all your recommended strategies in the back of the book, you are suggesting that if price is in the Kumo, the Kumo should be a thick cloud. I would expect the kumo should be thin, not providing much resistance or support. Can you explain why the cloud should be thick please?

If the price is in Kumo it is in consolation mode and it's not recommended to trade.

I understand you should not trade in a thick cloud. That is my point. In all the rules for the Ichimoku Strategies starting with page 150-159, one rule is, if price, TS, KS, and Chikou should not be in the Kumo Cloud. If they are, it should be a "thick cloud." Why a thick cloud? That is my question.

Hello,
If it is a thin cloud, you are allow to trade because your entry will probably be outside the Kumo cloud.

Most traders are not using the correct methods to trade the Ichimoku system, and do not realise that trading in the Kumo cloud can be extremely profitable.
In fact, many years ago I had a thread on this forum called 'Surfing the Kumo' which contained charts and relevant information regarding trading in the Kumo. Unfortunately the previous owners of the site decided to remove all references to it.

Arco,
Regret that your previous analysis are not available. Would you mind walking through the chart you posted above as I'm not following your point and I'd like to. What are we looking at? What is the trend line you have inserted ??
Many thanks,
Bob (been trading IKH for over a year now on DOW and NASDAQ stocks)

Hi Bob The Purple Trace 'line' is the track that I calculated beforehand which the action may follow based on the Ichimoku wave principle (which is not well known outside of Japan). It would take a number of hours to explain the processes that have to be gone through to construct the Purple Trace. Here's the result of the Purple Trace below Regards - Arco please check my blog for more examples.

That's really is a shame that Ian did that because Arco has such a good grasp of IKH and it's subtleties. Have learned a lot from looking at your chart posts.

Hello,
I am confused. What has been removed? I took over the site but have kept everything.
IF you give me dates/times or something to search for I will find it in the database.

Arco had posted some charts in forum in 2006/2007 and the previous owner Ian of Kumotrader decided to delete them because the charts contained other technical indicators besides IKH. Ian felt that these chart posts would confuse new Ichimoku traders, so he decided to remove them. It would be most helpful Manesh if you could restore these - thanks for your consideration.
