Pilgrim, I am not too sure about the mechanics of actually trading with it. But in a sense, it could be true because we are fascinated by the moon. It affects the world we live in and there is a romance about it. It affects our mood. So I guess it could affect how we trade. Simon

Hi everyone, Hope you all had a nice break? I have been watching how the moon sometimes affects the movement of price near one of its phases. An example of this is the AUDUSD this month. On the 3rd it was full Moon, look what happened to The price near that date. On the 11th it was the last Quarter look what happened there. I believe that the moon can affect the judgments that people make around these times. I for one will be extra careful +-1 to 2 days before or after any of the four phases of the moon. Cheers, Alan ![]() [attachment deleted by admin]

Alan, You know what would be nice? Some kind of indicator that would insert the moon phases into a Metatrader chart. Then we could verify your theory on the daily chart for a large number of pairs. There is a ver recent thread on this subject at http://www.forex-tsd.com/general-discussion/1012-astro.html.

Hello Everyone and a Happy New Year to all For moon phases I have used this site in the past to access the relevant info http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/moonphases.html?year=&n=136I haven't personally done much research on 'moon' trading, however I know there are a number of forecasters who work specifically with 'Astro' matters. Some time ago I read a book by Pesavento, but didn't find it suited my style. I did notice a thread on Elite forum within the last month where a guy was trading using the moon phases and called all the trades in advance. I can't currently find it, but if you are interested do a search there and you should be able to track it. regards - arco

Hi, Thanks for all your feedback. I will be extra careful around this time, as I would when the kumo has a flat top or bottom. It would be interesting to know how this affects the traders in the big banks when they react to financial announcements at this time. I would love to delve deeper into this subject but I will concentrate on learning how to analyse the Ichimoku charts first.
Cheers, Alan

Thanks, Alan. When I have a moment I will convert this to Metatrader format (if you are interested, I can mail you a copy) and try it out.

Hi Draco, That would be great if you could. I have just bought a Forex Tester which can be found on http://www.forextester.com/ I find it very helpful but I lack computer skills and am still learning to use it properly. It would be nice to be able to add this lunar programme to it. Cheers, Alan

Hi Everyone, I have been reading some of my sons old medical books on the spinal cord and brain and I feel that if the moon can cause high and low tides it can also react on our spinal fluid in our spine and brain causing pressure changes in the fluid. I will never be able to prove this, but I believe it to be true. Cheers, Alan Good Book on Solar-Lunar Correlations for trading. http://www.mmacycles.com/vol4.htm

I don't know about spinal tides, but it is known that the police dislike the full moon because domestic incidents and other disturbed behavior increase at that time. Probably traders also become a little crazier than usual.

The moon is always full.
What isn't full is the amount of light reflected by the lunar surface.
Police don't like full moon nights because there is more than enough light for idiots to continue being idiots. It has nothing to do with being Star Trekian "bags of mostly water" reacting to gravitational forces. The full moon reflects 10 times more light than its previous phase (gibbous.)
More light means more opportunity for crime. That's why street lights should be abolished but that's another subject.
If you want to find a connection between gravitational forces and the market, you need to know _where_ the moon is in relation to the sun. Don't worry about other celestial objects. The sun is 99% of all mass in the solar system. The moon is not only close but 25% of the earth's size. It qualifies as a double planet except that earth is the center of gravity between the objects.
Why the frak are we discussing this? If everyone is using a demo account, knock yourself out and look for connections with the moon. Otherwise, keep your feet on the ground so you don't blowout your account.
